Subject:Family Math Night at Alexandra
A chilly blast of winter could do little to prevent several keen parents and students from attending Family Math Night at Alexandra Community School on Monday, February 29th.  Classrooms equipped with math stations provided junior kindergarten to grade 6 families with an opportunity to participate in a variety of fun and engaging math themed games that challenged the logical reasoning of even some of the parent-aged learners in the crowd!  Among others, games such as “Addition or Subtraction Tic-Tac-Toe” and “Math Smarties”, where students could estimate and make patterns with Smartie candy pieces, made for some educational friendly competition.  The evening wrapped up with pizza slices and apple juice for all as well as door prize draws to celebrate a job well done.
