Subject:BPDS Production of "The Wizard of Oz"
Bruce Peninsula District School's recent production of "The Wizard of Oz" included approximately 60 students from grades 1 to 12 with many from the Special Needs Unit participating.  There were three sold out performances between Thursday, April 21st and Saturday, April 23rd.  Students were involved in the production, as makeup artists, property mistresses, set crew, stage managers, lighting crew, front of house managers and actors.

A very dedicated group of parents also came to help paint and build sets as well as manage a whole host of backstage jobs during the production.  One of the community volunteers for the production was a BPDS Drama Club alumni, who recently returned from California.  The connections that are created in a large-scale production such as this one, the third whole-school production launched at BPDS in the last six years, are life-long.  The memories are always profound for all of those involved.
