Subject:Exploration, Play and Learning Outdoors
Over the course of the school year, two classes from Peninsula Shores District School in Wiarton have participated in a unique opportunity funded by the Ontario Teachers’ Federation Teacher Learning Co-op project.  Under the leadership of Becky Madill, OCT and Wendy Barker, RECE, the JK/SK and SK/1 classes have embarked on a monthly field trip to the Bluewater Outdoor Education Centre for a day of outdoor exploration, play, and learning.  Each month, the students have gone on a bush hike and created drawings of their surroundings to observe seasonal changes.  As the project has progressed, the educator team has noticed an increase in the comfort levels of their students outdoors, a boost in confidence levels, and of lot of excitement over the many nature observations.  It has been a wonderful experience utilizing a wonderful facility within Bluewater District School Board!
