Subject:Busy Summer for School Renewal in BWDSB
The summer of 2017 has been a busy one thus far in Bluewater District School Board as a number of school renewal projects continue with a view to ensuring necessary upgrades and improvements are in place for the start of the school year in September. Owen Sound District Secondary School is undergoing some significant renovations, which include a “refresh” to the gymnasiums through the addition of new flooring, change rooms, washrooms, and a renovated weight/cardio room.  Elsewhere, renovations as well as parking lot and play space construction work is underway as East Ridge Community School in Owen Sound prepares to open its doors as an elementary school for the first time.  Also occurring are mechanical and other upgrades at Arran-Tara Elementary School (Tara), Keppel-Sarawak Elementary School (Owen Sound), and Osprey Central School (Maxwell), while several other schools throughout the district are in the midst of various smaller renovation projects.  To view this year's list of summer projects, which are being funded through the Ministry of Education's capital priorities and School Condition Improvement funding, click here.

Meanwhile, work is also beginning at the future build site of the new replacement facility for John Diefenbaker Senior School (Hanover) funded through the ministry's School Consolidation Capital program.
