Subject:Remembrance Day Honoured in BWDSB
With Remembrance Day occurring on Sunday, November 11, 2018, Bluewater District School Board students and staff are dedicating time during the weeks before and after this crucially important occasion to participate in various commemoration and recognition activities.  From assemblies and presentations to art projects and other classroom initiatives that seek to share stories of heroism and sacrifice, our schools continue to honour and promote learning focused on the many brave Canadian men and women who have fought for our freedom and the lifestyle we are privileged to enjoy today.

As part of Treaties Recognition Week, students have also been learning about Aboriginal Veteran’s Day (November 8), designated to recognize members of Canada’s Indigenous communities who served during the First and Second World Wars, and in other conflicts.

In honour of Remembrance Day, national flags are once again being lowered at all schools, the Bluewater District School Board Education Centre, and other board locations from the end of the day on Friday, November 9, 2018 until the morning of Monday, November 12, 2018.
