Subject:Foxes Well Represented at Public Speaking Contest
Hanover Heights Community School hosted its public speaking contest on February 5, 2018.  The event, kindly organized by Grade 5 teacher Mrs. Bruton, saw a tremendous amount of talent from all participants, and made the decision process very difficult for impressed judges, Mrs. Stocovaz (former teacher and vice-principal at John Diefenbaker Senior School), Mrs. Howes (former JDSS English teacher), and Mrs. Napper-Sharpe (Hanover Heights principal).  After much deliberation, students Kyra Doersam, Jaxon Reay, Niya Doherty, and Emily Weber were chosen to move on to the Hanover Legion competition.  On February 11, the Legion welcomed a variety of wonderful speakers from various Hanover schools, and all students did an amazing job.  Hanover Heights student Niya Doherty was awarded first place for her speech, "Being the Middle Child".  Emily Weber's speech, "Ringette", garnered second place, while Kyra Doersam’ s "Elvis" speech earned third place.  Jaxon Reay was given an honourable mention for his speech, "The Life Lessons We Learn From Playing Sports". Hanover Heights school community members are very proud and appreciative of all the participating Foxes for representing the school so very well. Congratulations are also extended to their fellow Hanover schools for all of their sharing, hard work, and wonderful speeches.  It was a job well done by all Hanover student public speakers!
