Beginner Driver Education

Student driver taking parent/guardian out for a drive

Registration sessions will be held in school prior to course start dates.  Students should listen to announcements for dates and times.  Please ensure both Student and Parent/Guardian signatures have been completed on both forms.

What happens on a Snow Day? ~ If buses are cancelled so will the in-class portion of Beginner Driver Education for that day.  Students are to show up to the next scheduled class at which point their instructor will notify them when the make-up class will take place.

Community School Membership Fees (CSMF)
Recreation groups and community organizations under a volunteer leader may use facilities regularly.

Port Elgin Beach Volleyball Club

Port Elgin Badminton Club
Port Elgin Badminton Club is a recreational badminton club for all skill levels and ages.  Come out and ejoy learning and playing badminton with everyone.  We have 6 courts available for 3 hours every Wednesday between 7pm and 10pm.  Birdies and nets are provided by the club, you only need to bring your own racquet to enjoy the sport.

Port Elgin Air Cadets
The Air Cadet program is a national program for boys and girls. You must be 12 years old to join the program and you will age out at 19. Air Cadets will develop the physical, social, organizational and leadership skills of each person. Cadets will participate in 'drill', target practice with air rifles, outdoor survival training, principles of aeronautics, flight simulators and radio controlled planes. If they qualify, cadets will go to summer camp at no cost to the cadets, and may even earn their pilots license. Cadets will also have an opportunity 2 times a year to go gliding with qualified pilots and instructors (although this is not mandatory). there are no fees whatsoever for participating in cadets. Tuesday nights are our usual training night but we also meet regularly for additional training at our Southampton training facility. All of our leaders and volunteers go through a Vulnerable Sector Search and Police Records Check.

Saugeen Track and Field Club
The Saugeen Track and Field Club provides training and competitive opportunities for motivated elementary and high school aged athletes.  Sprints and hurdles, jumps, middle and long distance running and throws are all covered by an experienced STFC coaching staff.  STFC enjoys recognition and success at the provincial, national, and international level. School gymnasiums are used for training sessions in the winter.

Port Elgin Community Band
Port Elgin Community Band provides an educational and artistic experience to all students and adult members.  Band income is used to support BWDSB music programs through donations of new sheet music, band instruments, and other contributions.
