JOINT HEALTH & SAFETY COMMITTEE

INFORMATION:

The Board’s Joint Health and Safety Committee met on Thursday, May 10th, 2007 at the Markdale Satellite Office with the following present:

PARTICIPANTS:  Bob Farrell, Chair, OSSTF – Occasional Teachers; Al Gibb, Supervisor Building Services; Cindy Aitken, Trustee; Marg Gaviller, Trustee; Glenn Boisvert, SSP; Dave Dorscht, Custodial Supervisor; Doug Wright, CUPE; Conrad Gagnon, OSSTF – Secondary Teachers; Bob Tucker, ETFO – Occasional Teachers; Richard Bryant, OSSTF – Student Services; Byron Harris, ETFO; Dan Kerr, OSSTF – Educational Assistants; Kevin Smith, OSSTF – Office, Clerical, Technician

The Committee dealt with the following items:
•     Review of Minutes of February 22nd, 2007 Meeting•     Lockdown Procedures •     Fall Inspection follow up report
•     Staff safety awareness
•     Plant Department Report
•     Safety Office Report
•     School Fire Plans/Safety Minutes
•     Safety Grips•     Board wide training requirements•     Worker Concerns

RECOMMENDATION:

1.      THAT Bluewater District School Board receive the May 10th, 2007 Report of the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
