The following items were presented:
Updates:

Keystone, in partnership with Bruce Power, as a pilot project, has hired Child and Youth Workers to work in all secondary schools.  This worker is to support students with mental health issues.  The pilot project is to be reviewed in March.
Sandy Ribey attended a provincial conference and was able to speak with Dr. Gillett who is willing to come to Bluewater with her team to talk to LRTs regarding Acquired Brain Injury.
Let’s Learn Kindergarten Registrations have been running well.  Gwen Duncan, Area Resource Teacher, takes a lead on this committee.  
Michelle Forge, has been named to a subcommittee for the Mental Health Commission.  Michael Kirby is chair of the Mental Health Commission.  Michelle will be writing a guide based on Bluewater practices, to providing school-based mental health services for children and youth.  
Agenda Items:
Glenda Hayes, Area Resource Teacher, gave an overview of the Positive Behaviour Approach training.  Concern was expressed by SEAC that special education training does not occur through the Teacher’s College.  SEAC members are to ask their associations to write letters to the Ministry to encourage that special education training occur at Teacher’s college.
Carolynn Dyer and Bill Rich both sat on the committee to review educational assistant deployment.  Carolynn gave an overview of the information.  The main criteria for deploying an educational assistant is for student’s needs based on medical, physical, safety and supervision.
A demonstration on how the IEP engine can gather data from the District very quickly was presented.  
An overview of how the Section 23 program works within Bluewater was given.
