The following items were presented:

We received positive feedback with strong attendance at the summer institute sessions relating to special education.
The LRT/Administrators’ symposium focused on children’s mental health.  Dr. Ian Manion, Director of Operations at the Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health at Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), presented in the morning.  TRAIL staff discussed the evolution of the program supporting our gifted learners.  Many community partners presented workshops in the afternoon.  
The April PD day will be dedicated to Special Education.  Sessions will be presented under the umbrella of the “Education for All” document.
Helen Bochar spoke to student services staff at their first staff meeting.  
Over the summer, specialized equipment in the form of 75 new LD systems and a significant number of DL systems went out to the system.
Fetal Alcohol Syndrome workshop on October 29th at the Chesley Community Centre with Dr. Karen Baker.
Grey-Bruce Children’s Alliance is hosting a Poverty Forum in Owen Sound on October 27th. In the evening, there will be a free play “Danny, King of the Basement” at OSCVI.  Suitable for all ages.  Everyone is welcome.
Avon Maitland is exploring our EA Apprenticeship program that we have in partnership with Georgian College.
