The following items were presented:

Special Education Plan will be amendments only for this year.
The PD Day on April 24th will have a Special Education focus under the “Learning for All” philosophy.  SEAC is invited to attend the PD sessions.
The Board February Education Issues Report celebrated the work of the Area Resource Teachers and highlighted the partnerships Bluewater shares with Keystone Child, Youth and Family Services, Children’s Aid Society and members of the Grey Bruce Children’s Alliance.
At the March 24th Board Meeting there will be a presentation by Michelle Forge who has been hired by the Mental Health Commission to write a report on school based mental health supports and Dennis Boyle, Clinical Director for Keystone Child, Youth and Family Services on children’s mental health.
Budget meeting dates and times were sent to SEAC electronically.
Agenda Items:

Beth Fischer, teacher of SALEP Centre, Jackie Ralph, Canadian Mental Health and two students from the SALEP Centre spoke about the puppets they use for their plays.  The presentation “Break Free” discusses drug and alcohol awareness.  SALEP students have written the script for the play.  Plays are available to schools throughout Bluewater.  They currently are in a partnership with the Water Festival to make bug puppets and create a play for the Water Festival.
Sammy Salmon, who is a mother of 3 at G. C. Huston Public School, spoke on the topic of mental health from her personal perspective.  She was accompanied by guests Shirley John and Archie Gillies of Southampton.
Phil Dodd distributed and discussed the power point presentation regarding suicide and depression that was presented at the September Learning Resource Teacher/Administrator Symposium.  This presentation will be offered as a workshop on the April 24th PD Day.
