RECOGNITION OF EXCELLENCE
•     Family of Schools Award of Excellence – Cindy Reid, volunteer from Bruce Township Central School, was recognized for her outstanding contribution to the Bluewater education system.
•     "Northport Notes" Music CD - Kerrie-Lynn Boys and Maureen Low were recognized for producing a compact disc highlighting the quality of music being produced by students at Northport Elementary School.
•     OSCVI Millennium Partnership Program - Don Bartley and Sandy Stevenson, OSCVI, were recognized for participating in a federal government sponsored Millennium Partnership Project. The project involved senior technical students who drew, designed, researched and constructed replica native housing originally built in 1845.

Policy Committee Report
The following policies were approved by the Board:

Special Education Advisory Committee Report
•     Tracy Pettigrew was appointed as a member of the Special Education Advisory Committee. She will represent the Parent at Large.
•     Carolyn Marx was appointed as a member of the Special Education Advisory Committee. She will represent The Easter Seal Society.

EDUCATIONAL ISSUES
International Educator Exchange Teachers
Susanna Everingham, John Everingham and Lynda Henry shared experiences of their International Educator Exchange trips they participated in during the past school year.

STAFF REPORTS
Student Accommodation Reports
•     Bruce Peninsula District School (Secondary)
The timeline for the student accommodation review will be extended to review the original System Administrative Team recommendation and to investigate other alternatives. A report based on the second review will be returned to the Board no later than March 20, 2001. A further 90-day period for public input will be established no later than March 21, 2001.
•     St. Edmunds Public School
It is the intent of the Board that St. Edmunds Public School will be reorganized to a JK – Grade 8 school effective September 1, 2001 and the catchment area will be extended to include the Miller Lake area.
•     Eastnor Central School
It is the intent of the Board that Eastnor Central School will be closed effective September 1, 2001 and the students will be moved to Bruce Peninsula District School.
•     Wiarton District High School
The timeline for the student accommodation review will be extended to review the original System Administrative Team recommendation and to investigate other alternatives. A report based on the second review will be returned to the Board no later than March 20, 2001. A further 90-day period for public input will be established no later than March 21, 2001.
•     Dundalk Highpoint Community School
It is the intent of the Board that four additional classrooms, renovation of the administrative area, change room and washroom facilities be approved for Highpoint Community School.
•     Macphail Memorial Elementary School
It is the intent of the Board to leave the catchment area for Macphail Memorial Elementary School unchanged and to withdraw the proposal to adjust the western boundary of the catchment area.
•     Ripley-Huron Community School (Sr. Campus)
It is the intent of the Board that Ripley-Huron Community School (Sr. Campus) be closed upon the completion of the addition and alteration at the Ripley-Huron Community School (Junior Campus).
