This page will help you Install BEAM (known as FirstClass® Client) onto your computer at home over the Internet.
If you don't have a high-speed Internet connection, you can install from a CD. Use the Media Library Booking System to arrange for a CD. Check with your office staff if you need more information about using the Booking System.

Step 1 GETTING READY If you are presently logged into BEAM, you need to QUIT completely from Beam before continuing here.
Step 2 DOWNLOAD & INSTALL i) To download the software, click the appropriate link in the Table of Firstclass Software below. ii) When prompted, click DOWNLOAD and Save to your computer. iii) Wait while the install file downloads to your computer. iv) After the file downloads, double-click on the file to begin the install. v) When the installation automatically begins, follow the prompts to install and click FINISH at the end.

Step 3 POINT TO THE BEAM SERVER (Diagram 1 below) i) Once installed, the LOGIN SCREEN Appears. ii) Midway down the Login Screen look for the word SERVER Yes, If it does, then you're Done! Simply enter your User ID and password and click Login.
No, If it does NOT, then - click on Setup (if you don't see the Setup button, click on the arrow beside the word Advanced to open up the window) - in the setup screen, come down to the box next to
SERVER and type in: fc.bwdsb.on.ca - click Save to return to the LOGIN SCREEN Now you are ready to login to Beam. Simply enter you d and click Login.
