Driver Education Program


POLICY

Bluewater District School Board policy is to provide driver education programs for students attending secondary schools and that these programs will be administered through the Community Use of Schools Department. This program is for new teen drivers, and is sponsored by the Ministry of Transportation and Bluewater District School Board and offers 40 hours of programming

Please select "course list" from the Community Use/Community Education menu above to check for classes at your school.  Registations are due two weeks prior to the start date.  In school registrations will be held prior to each session start date.  Please check the course list for updated details.  Please be advised that students should be eligible for their G1 licence prior to or by the end of the in-class sessions.

Cost: $650.00 (includes certification with MTO) payable to Bluewater District School Board.  Payments can be made by cheque, visa or master card.  Applications are to be submitted to the Community Education Services Department, Chesley Education Centre, Box 190, Chesley, ON N0G 1L0.  They can be sent by mail or via the Board's courier, just hand it in to your school office.  You will also need to submit a copy of the front and back of your G1.  Questions - Please call Kris Klages 519-363-2014 Ext 2007

PROGRAM NEWS

The Ministry of Transportation moved to an electronic on-line system Sept. 1, 2008.  All students successfully completing the course will be certified with the MTO.  Students will no longer receive paper Certificates.  Students requiring proof of course completion for possible insurance discounts must attend at a Licence Issuing Office and request a “Driver Licence History/Student Profile”.  The fee for this service is $12.00.  For more information or to read about upcoming changes, visit www.mto.gov.on.ca
