Every Child Matters orange logoStudents in Grades 4, 5, and 6 at Paisley Central School engaged in some in-depth learning, reflecting, and thinking about the 215 or more Indigenous children whose remains were recently found in an unmarked grave at a former residential school site in British Columbia.

The students recognize that Indigenous peoples have been hurting for a very long time as the rest of Canada begins to realize the pain and hurt that has been placed on their communities for far too long.

As part of a discussion on ways in which we can support those in our Indigenous communities, a student letter campaign to our Member of Parliament (MP) was organized.

Through the creation of their insightful and caring letters, the students also had an opportunity to develop their learning around appropriate ways to express concerns and the proper channels to go through.

Please click on the links below to view the students' letters to Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MP Alex Ruff, as well as the responses they received.
