Northport students, staff, and Royal Canadian Legion representative showcase their certificateA talented group of Grade 6 Northport Elementary School students have received some provincial recognition for their video project.  Last fall, the students wrote, produced, starred in, filmed, and edited a video for the Royal Canadian Legion Remembrance Day Video Contest.  The students independently took on the project, spending many recesses and after school hours working on their creation.  The result was third place in Ontario!

Recently, Bob Harrison from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 340 in Port Elgin presented students Zander Alpaugh, Zuhayr Abbas, Shrey Desai, Emma Redmond, and Mya Downey with their $150 prize.  The presentation also included a certificate for the students and their teacher, Ms. Andrea Anions, on behalf of the Royal Canadian Legion Ontario Provincial Command.

Congratulations are extended to these creative young video enthusiasts, who have made their school community proud!  View their video creation below.
