Student Senate Report
Student Trustee Eve Snobelen provided an update on the Student Senate’s recent meeting with Chair Jane Thomson and Vice-Chair Jan Johnstone.

As part of its environmental focus, the senate will be creating brochures to highlight initiatives that have taken place at our secondary schools.

With culminating assessments, exams, and a new semester coming up, many secondary schools are providing students with mood boosting activities to ease stress.  For example, John Diefenbaker Senior School students decorated cookies and received anti-stress kits.

Student Senator Jaycob Thompson is looking forward to his co-op as a recreation manager in second semester.

Athletics and extra-curricular opportunities continue to occur.  Kincardine District Senior School is already planning for the upcoming badminton, soccer, and rugby season.  The current winter season includes girls’ volleyball, boys’ basketball, curling, hockey, swimming, and others with playoffs and qualifiers to CWOSSA set to take place following the change to the new semester.
