Mental Illness Awareness Week (MIAW), October 4 - 10, 2020, is an annual campaign designed to help open the eyes of Canadians to the reality of mental illness.  The week was established in 1992 and is coordinated by the Canadian Alliance on Mental Illness and Mental Health in cooperation with its member organizations and other supporters across Canada.  The focus is on raising awareness and ending stigma associated with mental illness.

Bluewater District School Board's Multi-Year Strategic Plan includes the following priority and associated goals:

Through the assistance and expertise of caring partners, the board is able to share and leverage several resources that support student and staff well-being throughout the year:
