On behalf of the trustees and senior leadership staff at Bluewater District School Board, we extend a warm welcome to everyone on the official first day of the 2025-2026 school year!
It is our sincere hope that our students, staff, and families found time over the summer to enjoy the best of the hot weather, experience the rewards of close personal connections, and cultivate some special memories.
For our staff who worked during these past few months maintaining and readying our schools and sites, we thank you for your dedicated efforts. It may come as a surprise, but summer is an extremely busy time in our board with renovations and renewal work, technology upgrades, and September start-up preparations. Our spruced-up schools are now revitalized for learning as we open the doors to new and returning students and staff from JK to Grade 12.
We recognize that the beginning of the school year can evoke a range of feelings and emotions for students and families — especially those encountering certain milestones. Perhaps you are a family who is new to the area with a student entering one of our schools for the first time. Maybe your child is starting JK or taking that big step into Grade 9. Whatever your situation, please be assured that we have many staff in our buildings with a depth of expertise in assisting students and families through these different transitions. From the classroom to the main office, in Bluewater, a caring adult is always around the corner to offer their support. Your simple task is to just ask!
The coming days will be busy with back-to-school traditions and processes, such as the usual homebound bundle of student information forms, 'welcome' events for families, reestablished routines, and orientation activities as students settle into new classes. The first month is also a significant time of change for our staff. We wish all of you good luck, strength, patience, and the support of compassionate peers as you navigate this period of adjustment together.
Have a wonderful school year filled with growth and success.
