It offers an opportunity to honour and learn about the brave Canadians who have sacrificed for our freedoms.

November 8 is Indigenous Veterans’ Day in honour of the more than 12,000 First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples who have served during conflicts in which Canada has been involved.

Remembrance Day on November 11 recognizes the sacrifices, lives, and legacies of Canada’s war heroes, both past and present. Two minutes of silence will be observed at 11 a.m. in remembrance.

At this time of year, our students and staff take part in a variety of meaningful tributes and activities, including learning experiences, assemblies, presentations, art campaigns, and other creative projects.

The National Flag will be lowered at all BWDSB schools and work sites in honour of both Indigenous Veterans’ Day and Remembrance Day.

Lest we forget.
