Former BWDSB principals in front of new Beavercrest Community SchoolThe new Beavercrest Community School in Markdale officially welcomed classes for the first time on Monday, March 17, 2025 as students and staff returned from March Break to enjoy the start of an amazing era.

The state-of-the-art junior kindergarten to Grade 8 facility, which sits adjacent to the former school building, includes 374 student spaces. Two child care and EarlyON rooms are also part of the construction and will open at a later date. Remediation of the former building and demolition are slated for this spring with the construction of playgrounds and addition of sod to beautify the school yard to follow.

The new build was made possible through a provincial investment of more than $20.7 million supported by the Capital Priorities, Child Care Capital, and EarlyON Capital programs.

Thanks are also extended to the many passionate and dedicated members of the community, including residents, businesses, our local MPP, and municipal partners, who were strong advocates in transforming the idea of a new school into reality. Numerous board staff, trustees, and contractors were also instrumental in the success of this project, from concept to completion.

We wish current and future students, staff, and families of Beavercrest many productive years of learning and creating lasting memories in their remarkable new school!
