Think Safe. Share Safe. Stay Safe Together. The 2026 theme for K-12 Cyber Awareness Month is premised on learning how to protect ourselves and others online. While the need to practice cyber safety is an ongoing pursuit, this digital awareness campaign in October provides us with the perfect opportunity to renew our focus by assessing and actively improving upon our digital habits and behaviours.
K-12 Cyber Awareness Month is a province-wide initiative coordinated by the Educational Collaborative Network of Ontario (ECNO), in partnership with the Ministry of Education. Its aim is to equip schools with useful information and resources that help students, families, educators, and school communities build knowledge, confidence, and habits for safely and responsibly navigating today's digital world.
This year's campaign is broken down into four focus areas:
Digital Me – Secure Habits Matter
Digital Us – Respect & Protect Others
Digital Families – Healthy Digital Habits
Digital Minds – Smart & Responsible AI Use
