This year’s March Break has some added vibrancy with St. Patrick’s Day happening on the 17th and the official start of spring set for the 20th. In our Bruce and Grey communities, there will no doubt be plenty of green just ahead of the blooms!
We recognize that while all students and some board staff are off for the week, there are others within our organization and the families we serve who will be working during this period. In Bluewater, we are thankful to those staff who are staying on to keep our system running and on track. It is our hope that regardless of your personal circumstances, the coming week will offer at least a few unique opportunities for connection, rejuvenation, and supporting your physical and mental wellness, however that may look for you.
Our community partners always step up in a big way during March Break. In many cases, parents/guardians seeking fun and engaging learning activities for their children need not go any further than their closest library or museum. The United Way of Bruce Grey is happy to help with a list of free and low-cost local activities available on their
website for families to consider.
When students return on March 23, it will be full steam ahead until June as we enter the final stretch of the school year. In our schools, this brings the excitement of spring athletics, summer school preparations, graduation planning, year-end trips, and a host of other activities. Let’s hope that an abundance of sunny days and warmer temperatures accompanies the burst of spring energy that awaits in our schools and work sites.
Until then, and no matter your plans, Bluewater’s Board of Trustees and senior leadership team wish you a safe, restful, and rewarding week ahead.
