October 2 is an opportunity to share our thanks for the multifaceted roles and responsibilities that these skilled professionals assume each day to ensure the health and safety of our learning and working environments. From cleaning and upkeep, to tackling the unexpected, our BWDSB custodial and maintenance staff are essential to the smooth operation of our system through their adaptability, expertise, and dedication. Their hard work and care are evident in every positive and welcoming space where our students and staff come to learn, work, grow, and be inspired.

We invite everyone to take a moment on National Custodial Workers’ Recognition Day — and any day — to thank a custodian and/or maintenance worker for the vital role they play in supporting excellence in our education system.
Bluewater District School Board is located on the traditional land of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation, which is represented by the communities of Saugeen First Nation and Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation.
