First place winning artwork, “Child Riding a Reindeer” Students at Northport Elementary School in Port Elgin participated in the 2020 Bruce Power Art Contest with some amazing results!

The students were among a large number of entrants in the annual competition attempting to design a holiday greeting card for Bruce Power President and Chief Executive Officer, Michael Rencheck.

After a difficult process involving many judges, the top four were announced.  The grand prize winner and second runner-up were Northport students, both in the Grade 3/4 class of Nicole Martin!  Claire Wilken’s “Child Riding a Reindeer” was chosen as the artwork to adorn the holiday greeting card for Bruce Power, while Aislyn Maxemiuk was named as the runner-up for her piece, “Christmas Tree and Presents”.

Both girls are the recipients of an art kit for their accomplishments, while their class received a combined $650 to buy art supplies and a pizza party courtesy of Bruce Power.

Congratulations to Claire and Aislyn!
