Bluewater District School Board (BWDSB) students continued to impress with innovative and creative projects as they joined their student peers from across Bruce and Grey counties at the 2026 Bluewater Regional Science and Technology Fair (BRSTF).
Following the Senior Fair at Owen Sound's Bayshore Community Centre on Wednesday, April 1, six students are preparing for the opportunity of a lifetime as they advance to represent Team Bluewater at the 2026 Canada Wide Science Fair (CWSF). This year’s national event will be taking place from May 23 to 30 in Edmonton, Alberta. Over 400 students from across Canada will be competing for almost $1 million worth of awards and scholarships, including trips to international competitions and the coveted title of being Canada’s Top Young Scientist. On Wednesday, April 8, several students across both counties brought their displays to the Bayshore for the Junior Fair. In addition, to the ceremony of medals and awards, Bill from Elgin Market Public School in Kincardine was recognized for his winning pin design in this year's BRSTF student logo contest. The pin has been provided to all student participants and represents the 2026 BRSTF brand.
The BRSTF would not be possible without the assistance of many volunteer judges and sponsors. The committee would like to thank its many CWSF Team sponsors. School staff, parents/guardians, and other supporters are also acknowledged for their commitment to our students in realizing their amazing projects from concept to final display. Many thanks are extended to the BRSTF committee, including the organizers and judges, who continue to donate hours upon hours of their time and knowledge each year to providing this invaluable learning and growth experience in science to local students.
