Explore - Explore is an intensive French-immersion program that is offered during the spring and summerFive (5) week intensive French language course for 18 and olderA variety of language levels are available as well as some bursaries

France-Education Internationale- BELC numérique- A full distance language course that you create from a list of options.  Topics include: “Adopter les principes du CECRL pour enseigner” and Animer des activitéorales en classe de FLE pour un course en ligne.

Teachers 5 etoiles- Developed by ACPI, this website offers many opportunities for FI teachers (especially new FSL teachers!).  It includes a job portal, Bursaries and internship opportunities as well as lots of support resources.  It also links to the following:


Projet à Québec

A summer language program in Quebec City, organized by the Ontario Modern Language Teachers’ Association (OMLTA) to help French Second Language (FSL) teachers improve their language skills and second-language teaching abilities

Summer University for FSL Teachers

The University of Ottawa, through its Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute, offers a summer program geared to the needs of French as a Second Language (FSL) teachers.

Western University’s French Immersion School in Trois-Pistoles

This program for French teachers is offered during the summer and gives participants the opportunity to learn and live in an entirely French-speaking environment.

Transforming FSL- The website to bookmark for FSL professional learning materials. Topics range from the CEFR, how to teach grammar in action, moderation in the FSL classroom, supporting students with special education needs and many more.

Where is Bluewater located?
Bluewater District School Board is located in beautiful Bruce and Grey Counties and we acknowledge it is the traditional lands of of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation, represented by the communities of Saugeen First Nation and Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation.  Approximately 75 minutes north of Brampton and bordering Collingwood on Georgian Bay the school district extends west to Lake Huron and north to the Bruce Peninsula. The region offers a rich variety of year round cultural amenities and outdoor activities.

There are not any FSL jobs listed currently, but I am FSL qualified.  Who do I contact?

How is language proficiency assessed
This is currently under review and will be updated soon. 

I do not currently have my FSL part one qualifications.  Can I apply for a position?
Applicants who are not currently qualified for FSL, but who speak French are welcome to apply.  Preference is given to any candidate with FSL qualifications. All applicants are encouraged to pursue additional qualification opportunities.
