After a long layoff, elementary volleyball is back and as strong as ever in Bluewater District School Board!
The boys' and girls' championships were held recently at East Ridge Community School with 16 teams competing from across all regions within the board. It was the first time since 2019 that these tournaments were run, and the level of play did not disappoint throughout two great days of competition, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
The boys' tournament came down to Beaver Valley Community School and Peninsula Shores District School, with Beaver Valley outlasting a strong opposing team. On the girls' side, the Hillcrest Elementary School Huskies were in a tough match that seemed to pick up momentum as the day moved along against the Knights team from Kincardine District Senior School. In the end, the Huskies finished the day on top, without dropping a single set.
Congratulations to Hillcrest and Beaver Valley, as well as the rest of the teams and players. A big 'thank you' is also extended to all the coaches and volunteers who helped to make this event such a success. The efforts of all involved set an amazing example of the determination, skills, and spirit that we are so fortunate to have in Bluewater!
