Your Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) is in place to support, encourage, and enhance meaningful parent involvement in Bluewater – by supporting our School Councils, by helping parents at home link to resources and support, and by providing advice to the board from a parent perspective.

Parents Matter!

Study after study has shown us that student achievement improves when parents play an active role in their children’s education, and that good schools become even better schools when parents are involved.  To that end, your Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) is in place to support, encourage, and enhance meaningful parent involvement in Bluewater – by supporting our School Councils, by helping parents at home link to resources and support, and by providing advice to the board from a parent perspective.

We invite you to explore the links on these pages to a rich assortment of resources and tools that we hope will support you in finding the ways that you would like to engage in your children’s education.  Connect to other parents and School Councils to see what is happening across the board, and learn from what is working well for others.

Your Bluewater PIC meets regularly – approximately four times during the school year – to discuss a wide range of topics relating to parent involvement.  PIC awareness is growing, and we are now looking forward to filling the vacancies that exist with parents interested in participating at this level of the education system.  Please contact us if you have an interest in becoming involved!
