Community Use of Schools

RENTALS
Renting a school facility is a simple 4-step process:

STEP 1:

Choose a facility and location that will suit your needs. The schools across Bluewater District School Board boast excellent facilities such as the state of the art performance facility at OSCVI Community Auditorium (located at East Ridge Community School), along with classrooms, gymnasiums, auditoriums, libraries and meeting rooms! You may also access our Fee Schedule.

STEP 2:

Request a school facility using the fast and easy on-line permitting system. To access the on-line system, please click here.

STEP 3:

Approval - Once a request is approved, you will receive an email notification regarding your request. You may access the online permit request software to view your permit with the details of your event, including an estimate of facility costs (if applicable) and an estimate of operational costs.

STEP 4:

Payment - At the conclusion of your event, you will receive a notification, your invoice with the costs incurred is available for viewing online. Payment is done by credit card through our online permit request system.

Hours of availability at Bluewater schools vary, but are generally available for use between 6 - 10pm from Monday to Friday.
Schools are sometimes available on weekends and holidays subject to maintenance and operational schedules. Request for summer bookings must be received prior to May 31st of each year.
Fees for using schools vary depending on the type of organization (i.e. not-for-profit vs profit).
Community Use fees are partially subsidized by the Ontario Ministry of Education's Community Use of Schools funding.
Fees for custodial and monitoring services are charged on a cost recovery basis.
All organizations using a school, must have a permit to do so.
Organizations must provide proof of $2 M in liability with Bluewater District School Board listed as an additional insured or insurance can be purchased through the Permit Coordinator if needed.

You may qualify for a Reciprocal Agreement.

Bluewater District School Board is located on the traditional land of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation, which is represented by the communities of Saugeen First Nation and Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation.
