Preparing your child for their next big milestone

Is your child starting Kindergarten in the fall?

Beginning school is a very exciting time for your child. Sometimes, all this excitement can also cause a little nervousness.  There are some things you can practice together at home to feel ready.  Begin by giving your child a chance to show you what they can do like putting on their shoes, coat and zipping up his/her/their backpack.  Packing lunch in containers that are easier to open is a great idea.  Pack these containers for a picnic or for snack time to practice opening at home.  Don’t worry if your child can’t do these things quite yet – with time and practice, children will learn to do as many things as they can all by themselves!
