Bimaadzwin Door Project

Students at G.C. Huston Public School in Southampton have been engaged in a unique project that is allowing them to share powerful messages through the expression of art. The students have been designing classroom doors that reflect Saugeen First Nation's Grandfather Teachings. View our view gallery below.

Excerpt from Bluewater's First Nation, Métis and Inuit Self Identification Policy

Bluewater District School Board recognizes that the learning aspirations and potentials of First Nation, Métis and Inuit students can be realized through a responsive, transparent and accountable policy that focuses on improved programs and services and builds on strong partnerships with First Nation, Métis and Inuit parents and their communities.

  • To accomplish this goal student achievement data needs to be collected and aggregated related to the performance of First Nation, Métis and Inuit students to provide us with data to determine whether programs currently delivered offer similar opportunities for success as for other students.
  • Continued data collection and analysis will provide information for future decision-making surrounding First Nation, Métis and Inuit student success.

Bluewater District School Board is located on the traditional land of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation, which is represented by the communities of Saugeen First Nation and Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation.
