Happy Pride Month from Bluewater District School Board! Held annually in June, Pride Month is a celebration of unity, visibility, and equality for the 2SLGBTQI+ community, and a way for allies to demonstrate support.
Throughout the month, our schools and work sites are raising or visibly displaying the Pride flag. Some schools will be participating in local Pride parades, and many other creative initiatives to celebrate the occasion.
Pride Month is one of several opportunities to honour our board's ongoing commitment to diversity, acceptance, and inclusion in our education system. Many of our schools offer
Gender Sexuality Alliances (GSA) clubs, which promote inclusive, safe spaces for students to express themselves and support one another.
This month, we think about a brighter future with acceptance and inclusion for all, while reflecting on the progress and many positive gains that have been made over the past several years.
It is also the start of Pride Season with many events and initiatives occurring over the summer as “2SLGBTQI+ communities and allies come together to spotlight the resilience, celebrate the talent, and recognize the contributions of 2SLGBTQI+ communities.” – Source:
