Over the course of only four months, a fundraising initiative by the School Council has garnered $18,000 towards a goal of $100,000 for new playground equipment.

Members of the group have been busy reaching out to local businesses and organizations with letters to encourage donations for their Playground Equipment Fund.  The generosity and support within the community thus far has been extremely heartwarming, and the School Council has every reason to be proud of its efforts!

Plans are underway to continue running fundraisers throughout the remainder of the school year, as well as apply to grant programs, in the hopes of reaching their goal within a two-year time frame.

The adjacent poster was drawn by a member of the Normanby School Council to track the ‘climb’ to $100,000!

Bluewater District School Board is tremendously fortunate to have a wealth of dedicated and passionate volunteers who contribute their time, ideas, skills, and talents to School Councils.  Staff and trustees are grateful for their generous efforts, which are instrumental in fostering a positive school community culture and in providing meaningful opportunities for students.
Bluewater District School Board is located on the traditional land of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation, which is represented by the communities of Saugeen First Nation and Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation.
