Students from Owen Sound District Secondary School are displaying their interpretations of love in many shades throughout June.

To coincide with Pride Month, students from Lia Edgar's Arts and Crafts class, Jen Klemm's senior Visual Arts classes, and Elizabeth Hobe's Grade 10 class have joined their peers at St. Mary's High School in the Love is Love art exhibit at Heritage Place Shopping Centre in Owen Sound.

In response to the questions, “What is love to you?” and “What does ‘Love is Love’ mean to you?”, students engaged in critical thinking and discussed their various interpretations, which were then applied to their artwork creations.  The pieces paint a beautiful and thought-provoking picture, both literally and figuratively, of the student artists' deeply personal perspectives on the true meaning of love.  The universality of love and students' acceptance of the diverse ways in which it is expressed through all gender and sexual identities are articulately captured and expressed.

The exhibit continues for the general public to view until June 30.
