Remembrance Day graphic with BWDSB logo and image of poppy fieldOn Remembrance Day, Bluewater District School Board students and staff join Canadians to honour and remember our veterans, past and present, for their service to Canada’s military efforts and sacrifices made that have enabled our freedoms.

As has been past tradition, schools are hosting assemblies and attending community ceremonies on November 11.  National flags are also being lowered at all schools and work sites throughout the board.

To coincide with Veterans’ Week, schools continue to promote learning and awareness through activities, tributes, and art in commemoration of Canada’s war heroes.  Indigenous Veterans Day on November 8 was also an opportunity to recognize and reflect on the important contributions and sacrifices of Indigenous Peoples throughout Canadian history.

Lest we forget.
