Bluewater District School Board recognizes and thanks all the incredible educators across our local public education system on World Teachers’ Day. We appreciate their invaluable, innumerable, and unquantifiable contributions every day to student success and well-being.
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), in partnership with the International Labour Organization, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), and Education International has designated the following 2023 theme for World Teachers’ Day: “The teachers we need for the education we want: The global imperative to reverse the teacher shortage”
“It is a day to celebrate how teachers are transforming education but also to reflect on the support they need to fully deploy their talent and vocation, and to rethink the way ahead for the profession globally.” – UNESCO
Current and former students, parents/guardians, and other members of our Bluewater District School Board communities are invited to join us on World Teachers’ Day to celebrate the teachers in our lives who make, and have made, a positive difference. The small but kind act of thanking a teacher, past or present, who has impacted your or your child’s learning and growth, goes a long way in sharing the gratitude they deserve.
