Bluewater District School Board Appoints Superintendent of Business Services and Treasurer

Andrew LowChesley, ON – Bluewater District School Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Low to the position of Superintendent of Business Services and Treasurer, effective January 15, 2024.

Andrew has served in Bluewater District School Board for the past five and a half years, most recently as Manager of Financial Services.  His previous experience extends to the municipal and private sectors, including roles in public accounting and as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).  Since graduating from the University of Western Ontario with a bachelor’s degree majoring in Economics, he has maintained a solid track record of financial management and accountability in his various positions.

An Owen Sound resident with his wife and two sons, Andrew enjoys spending time with his family, and is often found on the sidelines coaching and/or supporting both boys in hockey, soccer, and lacrosse.

The appointment follows the recent departure of Rob Cummings.  As Superintendent of Business Services and Treasurer since 2014, Rob’s steadfast leadership and expertise have been instrumental in guiding the board to an enviable position of long-term fiscal strength.

“I look forward to offering my skills in this new capacity and working with our trustees, partners, senior team, and department and school staff to build upon our business successes and efforts for the benefit of the students of Bluewater,” says Low.

“I am thrilled to welcome Andrew to our senior team as Superintendent of Business Services and Treasurer.  Andrew has been a tremendous asset over the past several years with our budget planning, reporting, and other key finance functions.  His skills and experience will continue to lead us along a positive path of responsible fiscal management and resource stewardship,” says Director of Education Lori Wilder.  “I would also like to thank and recognize Rob Cummings for his years of dedicated service and many contributions.  Rob will be missed, and we wish him every success in his next life chapter.”
