Bluewater District School Board is trilled to received approved funding from the Ministry of Education for a new 328 pupil school in the town of Markdale, Ontario. This new school will replace the current Beavercrest Community School and will host both child care rooms and EarlyON at the same location.
The funding amount for the school, child care and EarlyON is more than $19.6 million. Approval to proceed with construction from the Ministry of Education was received May 30, 2023.
On February 7, 2023, Bluewater District School Board announced the approval from the Ministry of Education for a scope change and approval to proceed to tender for the new school in Markdale had been received. To view the full media release, please
